The COVID-19 pandemic has challenged creative professionals to think outside the box to create familiar experiences in a new way.

Every year, the Virginia Department of Education holds an announcement celebration for the Regional Teachers of the Year and the Virginia Teacher of the Year.  That event was historically in person every year until the pandemic began.

Leadership came to me wanting to still do something special but weren’t sure how to pull it off in the new socially-distant times.  The answer to me was quite simple.  We do a Zoom Broadcast. 

In partnership with VPM, we held a live stream simulcasted on all social media platforms.  I produced and edited all packages, interstitials, and managed the zoom myself.  We later repackaged the whole show to air live on television.
